I’ve been trying to incorporate more heart healthy beets into my diet and this is a simple and delicious way to do so!   INGREDIENTS: 2 large beets sautéed or steamed (chopped) 2 garlic cloves minced 1/2 cup red onion, diced 6 cups of raw spinach (washed) 2/3 cup raw walnuts (chopped) 1/2 fresh juice from an orange 1 tbsp walnut oil 1 tsp  maple syrup 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese Hint of Himalayan

Oh for the love of our hearts!  Who wants a happy, healthy heart? Yes indeed. Here in New York City this time of year can be tough for the seasonally sensitive. And to top it off there was good old Valentine’s Day for the emotionally sensitive. Certainly in my mind that immediately conjures up a big heart visual. While some folks eagerly anticipate and love the thought of this “hallmark” holiday, for others it evokes sheer dread.  For myself – I’m all in for any celebration of our precious hearts!

Happy New Year to all – any goal setting going on out there?  With well wishes and resolutions in the air, I’ve been thinking about my own ambitions for 2017 both personally and professionally. Being a coach for over a decade now, something I try my best to do is “walk the talk ”. In other words – practice what I preach. As most of us know this is sometimes much easier said than done. And I’m not sure I know anyone who does it 100% of the time. Often

  I love a holiday, especially one that involves gratitude and giving thanks! They are set markers for celebration and special times. Even birthdays I consider personally declared holidays! Although truly each day should be cherished, holidays help us to remember to hit the pause button to appreciate people and our lives. Sadly instead of practicing this in some form on a daily basis, we often get far too caught up in all our “busy-ness”!  Fortunately, these designated days give us an opportunity to slow down, reflect a bit, and “gather” our friends and family to simply enjoy.
